Stacy here!
Dear readers, we have some fantastic plans for the blog this month. We’re embracing the month of hearts with gusto! It’s going to be valentine crafts, heart-healthy recipes, and even more book love.
Like Cupid’s arrow? To make one, you’ll need:
- a headband
- dowel rod or some chopsticks
- construction paper: 2 each of heart and feather
- masking tape
- glue stick
- acrylic paint
- a willing model (or one who is easily bribed)
Sandwich the dowel between the two heart pieces with a little glue. Do the same for the feather piece. You can cut the feathery bits after the glue has dried. Use the masking tape to attach the chopsticks or dowel rods to each side of the headband. Paint the shaft of your arrow and the masking tape to camouflage your work. I did a little bit of red marker around the edge of my pink heart to give it some dimension. Some glitter would also be appropriate here.
Now, put on a hefty coat of red lipstick and place the headband on your model. Give him or her a big kiss and tell them happy Valentine’s day!! (Photographing your model outdoors with no coat on an Arctic cold day is optional.)

Cute kid!
